Allco Finance Group has hired former BT Financial group chief executive David Clarke as managing director and chief executive.

Allco Finance Group has hired former BT Financial group chief executive David Clarke as managing director and chief executive.

Clarke left BT in February 2005 and since then has taken on a number of independent directorships.

He recently stepped down as chairman of mortgage specialist Bluestone and has a seat on the board of AMP Capital.

Allco said David Coe would remain as executive chairman of the group, with Clarke taking a more hands-on approach to the day-to-day running of the business.

Michael Stefanovski will continue as chief operating officer, but has also been promoted to deputy managing director.
