The $61.3 billion Future Fund has hired Barry Brakey as an investment director in its private markets division.

The $61.3 billion Future Fund has hired Barry Brakey as an investment director in its private markets division.

Brakey co-founded the Pinnacle Property Group in 1988.

At Pinnacle he was responsible for superannuation fund advisory services.

Pinnacle's clients included industry superannuation funds HESTA and Vision Super.

Brakey has over 25 years' experience in property and has been involved in implementing and managing domestic and global property investment strategies.

"Barry's expertise in the property sector is a great asset to us as we continue to develop our program," Future Fund chief investment officer David Neal said.

Brakey will report to head of private markets Gary Gabriel.
