Health Super has plans to boost its financial planner numbers.

Industry superannuation fund Health Super is on a hiring spree for its financial planning service, with plans to employ several people in the next few months.

"We are looking to hire about three to four financial planners and paraplanners to our services," Health Super general manager of advice Andrew Vogt said.

"We have been consistently growing the business, adding one or two planners a month over the last 12 months."

The service now includes 28 financial planners.

The growth of the business had been driven by member demand following the global financial crisis (GFC), Vogt said.

"Members have taken a big interest in their superannuation investments following the GFC. The bulk of our members are now looking for advice on transition-to-retirement and post-retirement strategies," he said.

Health Super is also targeting younger members with advice regarding life insurance and changes to contribution caps.
