BlackRock appoints Zurich investment specialist

Former Zurich Financial Services investment specialist James Holt has joined BlackRock and will work on the relaunch of the firm's international share fund.

BlackRock has appointed former Zurich Financial Services investment specialist James Holt, as equities product specialist.

His main responsibility will be the relaunch of BlackRock's international share fund, scheduled for September this year.

"The fund used to invest in 150 equity stocks, but now it will invest in 40-60 of our best-idea stocks," Holt said.

"It will be a much more high-conviction fund."

 
 

The fund is managed from London by a team of twelve, which chooses stocks based on research produced by over 300 analysts. In Australia, the fund currently has $300 million in funds under management.

At Zurich Financial Services, Holt worked as an investment specialist in equity and diversified funds and was a member of the tactical asset allocation committee.
