AMP Capital has hired an alternatives specialist from Macquarie Bank.

AMP Capital Investors has expanded its research team with the appointment of Manfred Wong as hedge funds research analyst in its Singapore office.

Wong comes from Macquarie Bank in Hong Kong, where he was a hedge fund analyst responsible for covering Asia-based funds.

He was with Macquarie for more than three years and also had a stint as an associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he advised on mergers, acquisitions and private equity transactions.

Wong will move to Singapore to join AMP Capital global emerging and Asia ex-Japan equities portfolio manager Tanya Debakhapouve, who relocated there from the Sydney office earlier this year.
