AustralianSuper appoints ASFA policy head

AustralianSuper has attracted ASFA's head of policy.

AustralianSuper has appointed Louise Du Pre-Alba in the new role of head of policy.

Du Pre-Alba joins from the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA), where she held a similar position.

"ASFA's director of policy, Louise Du Pre-Alba, has resigned her position with the organisation following the conclusion of the Stronger Super consultation period," ASFA said.

Du Pre-Alba will remain with ASFA until the end of July before joining AustralianSuper in August.

The new role will involve research, analysis and recommendations relating to the strategic implications of current and potential superannuation and other relevant public policy developments.

"As a long-term investor, we are keenly aware that policy changes can have significant ramifications, not only immediately but for decades into the future," AustralianSuper chief executive Ian Silk said.

"We are committed to ensuring the members' voice is paid appropriate attention when policy is being developed, especially when many members may feel they are unable to make a contribution in their own right or that their contribution may not carry much weight."

ASFA chief executive Pauline Vamos said Du Pre-Alba's new job was a fantastic opportunity.

"Louise has led ASFA's work on MySuper and FOFA (Future of Financial Advice) and her contribution has been highly valued," Vamos said.

ASFA is now searching for a senior superannuation/retirement incomes policy specialist to continue working on the reform and implementation process.

David Graus will remain as ASFA policy and industry practice general manager.
