LG Super continues to hire former FuturePlus staff.

Local Government Super (LG Super) has appointed Tony Griffin as chief operating officer.

Griffin joined the super fund from FuturePlus, where he was chief financial officer from February 2010 until the end of November this year.

FuturePlus replaced Griffin with former St George Bank chief financial officer Elvio Bechelli last month.

LG Super also promoted Donna Heffernan to head of legal and compliance, taking over the responsibilities of the fund's governance manager Jean Elborn, who will be retiring in mid-December.

Heffernan was previously the fund's compliance manager and this role will now be filled by Steve Jones, who also previously worked at FuturePlus.

LG Super also appointed Oliver Sarpong to join the investment team as an investment analyst.

Sarpong was recruited as part of the AIST Gradute Cadetship program.
