MLC Implemented Consulting has appointed a new head of asset consulting.

MLC Implemented Consulting (MLC IC) has appointed Steve Gamerov as head of asset consulting.

Gamerov joined from Pinnacle Investment Management, where he was product and strategy director.

He joined Pinnacle in May last year from MIR Investment Management, where he was a senior portfolio specialist.

"We probably won't replace Steve immediately," Pinnacle managing director Ian Macoun told Investor Weekly.

"The way we work here is that we bring people on when we become aware that someone outstanding, with the particular skills we need, is likely to be available.

"We will continue to add to our team over time, but the actual timing is opportunistic.

"Steve is really talented and great, but he is very excited about that big opportunity at MLC and we are pleased for him. He made a really good contribution while he was here."

Gamerov's appointment was a result of a reshuffling of responsibilities at MLC IC, a spokesperson said.

The previous head of asset consulting, Gareth Abley, now heads up the capital markets and alternative research group.

This team was previously headed by Ian Hagtharp, who now works on a part-time basis for the group.
