Macquarie's high conviction team expands with the hire of former Platypus portfolio manager.

Former Platypus staffer Philip Pepe has resurfaced at Macquarie Group.

Pepe joins Macquarie Funds Management's high conviction team as research analyst and portfolio manager.

He will work alongside the high Conviction fund's co-lead portfolio managers, Mark Harrison and Macquarie Funds Management head of equities, Patrick Hodgens.

"Philip has a wealth of experience in high-level research analysis and portfolio management, broadening the resources of the team," Harrison said.

"The research conducted by the team shapes our investment decisions and we believe Philip will help us to continue delivering positive outcomes for our investors."

Pepe, who left Platypus in November, spent 18 months working as a senior research analyst and portfolio manager at Platypus and has also spent time at JF Capital Partners and Mercer.
