Mark de Vries will join the firm with responsibility for the governance of risk and related issues.
Nikko AM director and executive deputy president Junichi Sayato said: “Mark holds substantial experience, and will play a key role as we continue to strengthen our global footprint.”
Mr de Vries most recently served as managing director, head of quantitative analytics and risk, at Dymon Asia Capital.
He has also held positions with ABN AMRO Bank, Shinsei Bank, and Nomura International.
