After 21 years on the Energy Super board, 2015 AIST Trustee of the Year Bob Henricks has announced his retirement.

Mr Henricks will be replaced as a member representative director on the Energy Super board by Peter Duffy.

For the majority of his 21-year tenure, Mr Henricks was chairman of Energy Super and its predecessor ESIS(Q).

He guided the formation of Energy Super through the merger of industry super funds ESI Super and SPEC Super in April 2011.

Energy Super chairman Mark Williamson praised Mr Henricks for his contribution, hailing him as “one of the forefathers of Queensland’s industry super”.

“From his involvement in the launch of AUSTQ and SPEC Super, through to his appointment to ESI Super and then Energy Super, Bob’s foresight and strategic experience set the framework for the growth and success the fund has today,” Mr Williamson said.

“It has been Bob’s vision and commitment during the past two decades that has driven Energy Super’s reputation as one of Australia’s top-performing and truly member-focused funds.

“Bob has been an enormous advocate of superannuation and driven member engagement by ensuring they could access the advice, information, products and services they need.”
