The Morningstar Market Share Report collates fund size and flow data from approximately 120 of Australia's major fund managers, that is data on over 10,000 Australian managed funds.

The report is published in three parts:

Morningstar Market Share - Commentary (in PDF format).  For your convenience Morningstar analysts provide a comprehensive commentary on the quarter's industry trends. Their analysis focuses on the dynamics and rankings of the top 10 investment managers, with reference particularly to manufacturing as measured by Total Assets Under Management (TAUM), marketing measured by Funds Under Management (FUM) and administration by platforms measured by Funds Under Administration (FUA).

Morningstar Market Share Data - Excel data file.  You can download the quarter's data in excel format and conduct your own research and analysis. This comprehensive data set is organised in distinct peer groups to assist you make meaningful comparisons. 

Morningstar Market Share - Historical fund size and flow data. Split into two excel worksheets, one for retail funds and the other for wholesale funds. This comprehensive data set is presented at the product level, will assist you in making meaningful comparisons. 21 quarters of product level data has been made available in the March 2009 release.
