Mr Lazzoppina joins Investec after a year as co-head of industrials at Credit Suisse.
Prior to this, Mr Lazzoppina worked with Barclays Investment Bank and PwC, and advised Air New Zealand on the sale of its 20 per cent stake in Virgin Australia.
Investec Australia chief executive Milton Samios said the appointment marked the company’s “appetite to grow its presence in Australia”.
“We are delighted to welcome Anthony to further strengthen our origination capabilities in our corporate advisory business,” he added.
Investec Australia have recently hired a number of senior team members, including Christopher Stefanovski and Uyi Ighodaro.
