In her new role, Ms George will be responsible for member-facing and customer-centric services, according to a statement by the Governance Institute.
Ms George has over 20 years of international experience in global custody, financial planning, insurance and superannuation, said the statement.
She was formerly executive manager of education and leadership at the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST).
"My main aim is to ensure that Governance Institute is offering members the full package, including a strong voice, leading education and training programs and topical events," said Ms George.
"I look forward to helping the company with its strategic direction and vision for growth."
