Mr Potts will join Decimal as the firm's non-executive chairman after working with Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, Ajilon, Growth Equities Mutual and Sealcorp.
Decimal chief executive Nic Pollock said Mr Potts' appointment aligns well with the company's growth plans.
"Mark has the global enterprise technology market skills we were looking for, and as a bonus, experience in the financial services market," Mr Pollock said.
"We recently launched the first of our two distinct enterprise digital-advice solutions, while our pipeline of contractual opportunities with major Australian and international banks, superannuation funds and other financial institutions continues to strengthen
"This is being driven in part with compliance becoming increasingly important to institutional decisions," he said.
Outgoing chairman Robert Kirtlan, who will remain involved with Decimal in an unofficial capacity, said the appointment of Mr Potts adds to the firm another "highly regarded professional" with "intimate knowledge of the enterprise IT industry".
