Mr Aizawa’s appointment to the board indicates the importance of the TAL business in delivering Dai-ichi Life strategic goals, the announcement said.
“Dai-ichi Life would like to enhance the partnership with TAL, help TAL continue to successfully grow and also to explore the opportunity to share TAL’s practices and experiences with other group companies,” Mr Aizawa said.
Mr Aizawa worked in investment and overseas business areas, including in the United States, after joining Dai-ichi Life in 1983, according to TAL.
On May 7, he replaced Takayuki Kotani who stood down March 31 to take on a new leadership role in Dai-ichi Life.
“Mr Kotani has been a TAL director going back to the early days of Dai-ichi Life’s investment in TAL. TAL has been extremely successful during this period, with strong support from Dai-ichi Life,” said TAL chairman Rob Thomas.
“We thank Mr Kotani for his collaboration and assistance in helping to ensure our success and wish him well in his new role."
