BT has made three key senior appointments to its life insurance team in response to the “continued growth” of its life insurance business, the company has announced.

Joining BT from Asteron, Katherine Ashby has been appointed senior product technical manager, life insurance. She will lead the product technical team, which provides specialised support on regulatory change, advice strategies and technical aspects of life insurance.

“The appointment of Katherine reflected the continued growth of BT’s life business and its strength in the market,” said Scott Moffitt, BT’s national life insurance product manager.

Michael Baragwanath has been promoted to national distribution development manager, life insurance. Mr Baragwanath joined BT in August 2009 as a senior BDM, and helped grow the group’s IFA market presence in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

“This new role provides me the opportunity to look across the whole business at a national level and to work towards making it even greater,” said Mr Baragwanath.

Paula Zoch has been appointed to regional manager, Queensland life insurance, after joining BT as a senior BDM three years ago, according to the announcement.

“She has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry and has strong relationships with key businesses in Queensland,” BT stated.
