In his new role, Mr Gaffney will reinforce the bank’s ability to deliver high quality investment solutions as part of the institutional distribution team.
The team, led by global head of institutional distribution Rob Sullivan, promotes the investment capabilities of 10 boutique investment manager partners to both domestic and global investors and asset consultants.
“Michael brings with him more than 16 years' industry experience and a proven track record working with fund managers to raise funds across multiple asset classes and strategies,” Mr Sullivan said.
“Michael’s deep knowledge of institutional clients, and his ability to ensure our investment manager partners are well represented, will further support our strong institutional capabilities.”
Mr Gaffney previously held senior roles at Challenger and Bank of Ireland Asset Management.
He will start his new position on June 12.
