Dr Kasian, who has 25 years’ experience in the industry, makes the move from Melbourne-based fund manager Accordius where he was chief investment officer (CIO) and executive director.
His other past roles include CIO at First Samuel, as well as a number of senior roles at HSBC Global Asset Management, including CIO and head of equities.Dr Kasian co-founded Wallara Asset Management in 1995, and pioneered the ‘cash flow return on investment valuation technique’.
Equity Trustees CIO George Boubouras said Dr Kasian’s appointment was “the next step” in Equity Trustee’s funds management capability.
“Paul and I worked together in the past at HSBC Global Asset Management as part of a very successful asset management team, and I am particularly pleased to be able to appoint someone of his calibre, experience and track record to the Equity Trustees team,” said Mr Boubouras.
