Ms Cross, who will assume the same position on the board of Macquarie Bank, is a founding member of the Grattan Institute and a current director of Qantas Airways Limited.
Macquarie Group and Macquarie Bank chairman Kevin McCann said Ms Cross has “extensive expertise” in international capital markets, financial risk management and treasury.
Ms Cross has 17 years’ experience as a board director, having served on the boards of companies including National Australia Bank Limited, JBWere, Wesfarmers Limited, AMP Limited, Suncorp Metway Limited and as chairman of Qantas Superannuation Limited.
