AUI appoints institutional head

Australian Unity Investments (AUI) has appointed a new head of institutional business as it looks to further its business growth.

Paul Banks has been appointed to the role and will be responsible for building AUI’s relationships within the institutional market.

“Continuing to generate funds inflows for our boutique funds management partners and our property funds is a fundamental component of Australian Unity’s strategy and we being Paul is the right person to help us achieve our growth plans,” AUI general manager, funds management Fiona Dunn said.

“Pauls’ background, skills and strong relationships make him an ideal fit for AUI at this exciting stage of business.”

Mr Banks has more than 22 years’ experience in financial services and will be reporting to Ms Dunn in his new role.

He joins AUI from Morgan Stanley, where he held several senior roles including head of pension client solutions, head of transition and head of structured solutions.

Mr Banks previously held roles at Goldman Sachs, JBWere, Deutsche Bank and Macquarie Bank.

He holds a bachelor of business degree from Charles Sturt University, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ambassador University in California, and a graduate diploma in applied finance and investment from the NSW Securities Institute.
