Ms Everett is currently senior vice president of the Law Society of New South Wales and will become president at the end of this calendar year, legalsuper stated. The Law Society of New South Wales is one of five stakeholders in legalsuper and has over 23,000 members.
Ms Everett is also an active member of the Women Lawyers Association of New South Wales.
legalsuper chairman David Miles said the appointment continues the practice of legalsuper stakeholders being nominated to the board and maintains the close association between legalsuper and the Australian legal profession.
“The appointment of a new director also results in renewal on our board, an important component of good board governance,” he said.
“It also means that four of 10 directors are female, above the industry average of 21 per cent and already reaching the industry target of 40 per cent by 2017, as set by the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees.”
legalsuper manages more than $2 billion for more than 40,000 members, including judges, barristers, solicitors and legal support staff.
