The Trust Company has made three key appointments to its superannuation services team in response to recent regulatory changes.

The company has appointed Richard Grant and Mervyn Silverstein as trustee partnership managers and Pamela Panagenas as a technical manager in line with its new governance and operating model.

The trustee partnership managers will oversee various superannuation relationships and lead the Trust Company’s team of trustee partnership consultants.

Ms Panagenas will manage key projects within the superannuation business and provide guidance on daily technical matters for the broader team.

Trust Company head of retirement services, Maureen Daley, said the added resourcing will support the increased level of oversight and governance required under recently-introduced regulatory reforms.

“While the trustee role has always been to represent members' best interests, legislative changes have heightened this duty of care and formalised the fiduciary obligation of trustees to protect the assets of members,” Ms Daley said.

Mr Grant joins the Trust Company from his role with REST Industry Super, while Mr Silverstein and Ms Panagenas have joined from Plum Financial Services.

“We’re delighted with the appointments of all three positions. The experience and expertise of Richard, Mervyn and Pamela will help support and grow our superannuation services business,” Ms Daley said.
