Mr Alexander was first appointed in June 2013 to manage the fixed income team, enabling Mr Bridges to focus on macroeconomic and strategic research for Tyndall’s Australian fixed income funds and insurance management solutions.
Since his appointment, Mr Alexander has been responsible for managing the team, process, products and performance.
Mr Bridges has been with Tyndall AM for 15 years, working in fixed income strategy and focusing on insurance investment strategies.
He has become increasingly involved in strategic investment at a macro level, and working with the global investment team to generate recognition of its broader investment views and capabilities to prospective and current clients.
Tyndall AM managing director Mike Davis said there will be no fundamental change in investment process, philosophy or strategy used by Tyndall AM and that the fixed income team will continue to focus daily on managing downside risk and maintaining low volatility for clients.
Mr Davis said the team structure will, however, allow Mr Bridges to “further enhance his macro focus, while the day-to-day running of the fixed income team and its product diversification strategies will continue under James’ leadership”.
Tyndall AM chief investment officer Yu-Ming Wang said the move is in line with the global management structure that is being introduced.
“The formalisation of function titles recognises the success of Mr Alexander’s appointment, acknowledges Mr Bridges’ expertise and experience in macro assessment, and his contribution as part of Nikko AM’s Global Investment Committee,” said Mr Wang.
