JP Morgan Asset Management has appointed Mark Carlile as head of Australian strategic relationships for its funds business.

Mr Carlile has 20 years of experience, with his most recent role at Vanguard Investments where he was national manager of key accounts research and platform.

He has also held senior roles with Goldman Sachs JBWere Asset Management and ANZ.

JP Morgan head of Australia funds David Halifax said the appointment of Mr Carlile is an important step in JP Morgan’s expansion strategy as it continues to grow its wholesale offering in Australia.

“Mark has extensive local experience and a deep understanding of the outcomes investors are seeking,” said Mr Hallifax.

“Our clients and team will benefit from the strategic thought leadership and investment management insight Mark will bring to this role.”

JP Morgan has also appointed Katie Babatsikos to the JP Morgan Asset Management Funds business as business manager, as part of the distribution team.

Ms Babatsikos previously held a similar position with Perpetual Investments and will play an instrumental role in supporting the Australia business.

“Delivering the strength of the firm’s international expertise and insights to local market investors, partnered with an experienced on-the-ground team, puts us in a strong position to continue the momentum J.P. Morgan Asset Management is making throughout Asia-Pacific,” said Mr Hallifax.
