Franklin Templeton Australia expands fixed income team

Franklin Templeton Investments Australia has appointed Chris Siniakov as managing director of fixed income and Andrew Canobi as director of fixed income.

Mr Siniakov and Mr Canobi are responsible for developing a range of local fixed income strategies aimed at delivering stable positive returns with a low correlation to growth assets. 

They will be focused on macro strategies and identifying securities which offer attractive real yields and liquidity. 

Both hold 20 years of experience in delivering customised solutions, having worked closely with institutional and retail clients in the design and management of their fixed income portfolios.

Mr Siniakov joins Franklin Templeton from Deutsche Asset and Wealth Management as head of fixed income Asia-Pacific. 

He has also held portfolio management roles at Invesco and County Investment Management. 

Mr Canobi also joins from Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management from his previous role as director and senior portfolio manager, global fixed income.

Franklin Templeton Investments managing director of local asset management Stephen Dover said Mr Siniakov and Mr Canobi are strong additions to the investment team. 

“There is growing recognition of the need for strong fixed income capabilities in Australia, and building a strong local presence that draws on the capabilities of a highly regarded global team will enable us to meet this need,” he said.
