Mr Akele will look after the northern region of Australia, which includes New South Wales and Queensland. He will also have country responsibility for New Zealand.
Prior to taking on the role, Mr Akele has been Global Solutions state manager for NSW; Australian Unity Investments state manager of NSW; Morningstar national business development manager; and Challenger senior business development manager.
Certitude's chief executive, Craig Mowll, said the role had been created to meet the more sophisticated needs of the firm's clients.

“Over the past few years the adviser market has become more sophisticated as the demand on advisers to provide global capability to clients increases,” said Mr Mowll.
Mr Akele commenced his role on 1 July 2014.
