Australian Ethical has appointed Mason Willoughby-Thomas as portfolio manager of the Australian Ethical Larger Companies Trust, replacing chief investment officer David Macri.

Mr Macri has stepped down from the role to focus on the strategic development of the business and its offerings, as well as concentrating on managing the team and the overall investment process for managed funds and Australian Ethical’s superannuation fund.

Mr Willoughby-Thomas first joined Australian Ethical two years ago from ING Investment Management where he was a senior equity analyst.

He has also held positions at ABN Amro and AMP Capital Investors.

Mr Macri said Mr Willoughby-Thomas has become an “invaluable team member at Australian Ethical” and is well regarded as an analyst.

“I have no doubt he has the necessary skills required to manage the Trust,” said Mr Macri. “His dedication and passion for investing is obvious for all to see.”
