IRESS director Tony D’Aloisio has been appointed as chair of the IRESS board, replacing Peter Dunai who has announced his intention to leave.

Mr Dunai will continue as a director on the board until the board’s next meeting on 30 September 2014.

Mr D’Aloisio first joined the IRESS board in June 2012 and was previously managing director and chief executive of the Australian Stock Exchange between 2004 and 2006 and subsequently chairman of ASIC from 2007 to 2011.

“The future of the business will be profoundly influenced for many years by what Peter has helped to create,” said Mr Dunai.

“IRESS’ approach to innovation, customer service and management – its culture – is a reflection of that contribution.”

Mr Dunai founded IRESS with colleagues in 1993 and served as its managing director from 2001 to 2009 and subsequently as chair.

He said he was fortunate to have been on a “shared journey with so many talented and dedicated colleagues for so many years”.

“I am very confident that our people, management and directors have the skills and experience to take the company forward.”

Mr Dunai added that Mr D’Aloisio was very familiar with the company and its culture and is confident the “company will be in good hands under his chairmanship”.
