Standard Life expands European business team

Global asset manager Standard Life Investments has announced the appointment of Christopher Andersson and Selcuk Acar to its European business team.

As a part of the expansion of its European business team, Standard Life Investments has appointed Mr Andersson as investment director for sales in its new office in Sweden, while Mr Acar has been appointed business development manager for institutional sales in Germany and Austria.

Standard Life Investments' co-head of European business Asa Norrie said both Mr Andersson’s and Mr Acar’s appointments will help “propel” the business forward.

“Both bring a range of experience and skills which will help to propel Standard life Investments further into Europe, as part of our commitment to expand our global franchise,” said Ms Norrie

“In recent years, we have seen investor demand escalate in Sweden for innovative absolute return solutions,” she said.

Both Mr Andersson and Mr Acar will be responsible for ensuring that clients have the right investment solutions, while developing and expanding new opportunities across the countries.

Prior to their appointments, Mr Andersson worked for boutique asset management firm Lannebo Fonder as a sales manager, while Mr Acar worked for AXA Investment Managers as a senior relationship manager.

Standard Life Investments SICAV funds have public distribution status in 16 European countries, with €13.1 billion in assets under management across Europe.
