The current chief executive of South Australian fund Statewide Super has stepped down after five years in the role.

John O’Flaherty will leave the industry fund on May 1.

Commenting on his resignation, Mr O’Flaherty said, “I am gratified with the results the Statewide team has achieved for our members and for South Australia”.

Statewide chair Juliet Brown added that “John’s leadership and drive was key to Statewide’s successful merger with Local Super”.

“John has also been responsible for instilling a strong customer focus in the organisation,” Ms Brown said.

During his time as CEO, the fund grew from $1.7 billion to $6 billion, she added, noting that comprehensive advice, including financial planning, is now available to members.
