Contango Asset Management has re-appointed a former JP Morgan executive as a senior investment manager.

Alastair Drummond will return to Contango after leaving the firm in 2004.

Contango chief investment officer George Boubouras said Mr Drummond’s appointment marked a “very welcome homecoming”.

“We’re thrilled Alistair is coming back to Contango, bringing more than a decade of new experience with him,” Mr Boubouras said.

“Attracting [a] high calibre individual like Alistair to Contango is a fantastic vote of confidence that we’re on the right track.”

“Alistair will help both myself and the Portfolio Managers to drive the consistent investment message to our client base.”

“While not managing a portfolio himself, Alastair is the perfect appointment to support me in overseeing our strategy implementation,” said Mr Boubouras.

Mr Drummond has also held positions with NAB.
