Gerard McDermott will join BT Financial Group (BTFG) on 14 September 2015 as head of general insurance.
BT general manager of insurance and investments, David Lees, said Mr McDermott will play a “critical role” as the business expands its range of insurance products through its partnership with Allianz.
“Gerard will play a critical role in leading the implementation of this roll-out, and his many years of experience will also help ensure we continue to deliver the best products and services to our customers,” Mr Lees said.

Prior to joining BTFG, Mr McDermott was executive general manager of distribution for personal insurance at Suncorp.
