The investment firm has commenced an executive search following Mr Gordon’s decision to leave the company.
Perpetual Investments chief executive and managing director Geoff Lloyd said: “We are highly respectful and fully supportive of Michael’s decision to retire from his executive role and we acknowledge his proven capability as a leader in Australian and global asset management.”
“Michael is very much part of the Perpetual family and we look forward to working with him through the rest of the year. This will include ensuring an orderly handover to his successor,” Mr Lloyd said.
Commenting on his departure, Mr Gordon said: “This is a fantastic role and I love working at Perpetual.”
“At the same time I recognise the demands of managing Perpetual Investments. I am looking forward to changing course and directing my energies away from executive life towards building a non-executive portfolio,” he said.
