Angela Emslie, current HESTA chair, has been named as a candidate for the asset owner position.
In her candidate statement, Ms Emslie said: “I firmly believe in the role the PRI plays in not only raising awareness and promoting the benefits of long-term responsible investing, but also in leading change in the asset owner, manager and broader investment community.”
Ms Emslie stated her experience as the president of the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST) as a key attribute.
In addition, former JP Morgan and Citi executive Sandra Carlisle is in the running for the board’s investment manager position.
PRI will appoint two asset owners and one investment manager to its board after a vote on 29 September 2015.
