Björn Kvarnskog, who was previously head of equities at Swedish pension fund AP4, has been appointed by the Future Fund as its own head of equities.
Future Fund chief investment officer Raphael Arndt said, “I am delighted that Björn is joining us and will bring his extensive experience in long-term investing and leadership to the fund”.
“Bringing together different investment perspectives is enormously important to how we run the portfolio and Björn will be a great addition to our thinking,” he said.
Mr Kvarnskog will replace Sarah Carne who has acted in the role through the fund’s recruitment process.
“I am very grateful to [Ms Carne] for her hard work and commitment and she will continue to lead the team until Björn takes up his role,” Mr Arndt said.
Mr Kvarnskog will commence in the role in early 2016.
