Michael Clancy will replace Jane Perry as the chief executive of Qantas Super following a five month-long recruitment process.
Qantas Super board chairman Anne Ward said: "We received significant interest in this role, which reflects how well positioned the fund is, the strength of Jane's leadership, and the calibre of the Qantas super team.
"[Mr Clancy] will bring to the role extensive and holistic experience in the financial services industry, and a strong commitment to achieving positive outcomes for Qantas super members.
"The Qantas super board is looking forward to working with Michael to continue the valuable contribution that Jane has made to Qantas super members since joining the fund almost four years ago," Ms Ward said.
As part of a transition plan, Ms Perry and Mr Clancy will work together until she retires on 11 December 2015. Mr Clancy will commence with the fund on 16 November 2015.
Commenting on Ms Perry's retirement, Ms Ward said: "The Qantas super board is sincerely grateful to Jane for her leadership shaped by integrity, transparency, and a singular focus on improving the plan for the benefit of members."
