Rabobank names deputy CEO and managing director

Rabobank Australia and New Zealand has appointed a deputy managing director and new deputy chief executive of Rabobank Australia.

Peter Knoblanche has been named as the deputy managing director of Rabobank Australia and New Zealand and the deputy chief executive of Rabobank Australia.

Mr Knoblanche will also continue in his current role as group executive of country banking in Australia. He has been with the bank for the past 19 years, holding positions in structured finance, corporate banking, structured commodity finance and commodity price risk management.

Moreover, Rabobank has named Todd Charteris in the newly created position of national manager, country banking Australia.

“[Mr] Charteris will lead the client-facing teams within Rabobank’s Australian country banking operations, where he will focus on supporting the bank’s farming and agribusiness clients and facilitating Rabobank’s continuing business growth,” a statement issued by the bank said.

Rabobank Australia and New Zealand chief executive Thos Gieskes said the appointments reflect and "evolution" in the bank's structure. 

Mr Charteris has held the position of state manager Victoria for the past four years. A recruitment process is currently underway to fill the position.
