Josh Phillips, who joined Perpetual in 2012 as a graduate, has been named for the position.
Perpetual's head of equities, Paul Skamvougeras, said the appointment reflects Perpetual’s commitment to promoting from within the firm.
In his role, Mr Phillips will focus on strategies covering consumer discretionary, industrial, chemical and diversified financial companies.
“This appointment further demonstrates the continued growth of our global equities capability and our commitment to this strategy,” Mr Skamvougeras said.
