Ms Patterson has been the acting head of of Telstra Super's $2.5 billion property and infrastructure division since December 2015 and has been an investment manager on the Telstra Super investments team since 2011.
Before joining Telstra Super, she worked at Hastings Funds Management on assets and transactions, including Sydney’s M4 and M5 toll roads.
She was also an alternate director on the Perth Airport board, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Telstra Super chief investment officer Graeme Miller said Ms Patterson was the "perfect candidate" for the role.
"She has an excellent track record in these asset classes and I’m confident that under Miriam’s leadership we will continue to deliver superior investment outcomes for our members," Mr Miller said.
