Russell Investments has announced the addition of two new directors to its superannuation trustee board.

Alexis Dodwell and Michael Gordon, both formerly of Perpetual, have joined the board and will be responsible for guiding the trustee’s risk management and governance experience.

Ms Dodwell previously held the role of general manager – risk and compliance with Perpetual, and also worked for Commonwealth Bank and KPMG.

Mr Gordon was group executive with Perpetual and served as chief investment officer of Fidelity International and BNP Paribas.

Russell Investment’s chief executive for Asia-Pacific, Peter Gunning, said the two new directors would “support the company’s initiatives”.

“These two industry veterans help assure continued, strong, independent oversight for our members with experience in superannuation, investments, risk management and governance,” he said.

Mr Gunning said both the new appointments would bring individual skills and experiences to the board.

“Alexis brings considerable strength in both governance and risk management, and Michael has exemplary experience as a chief investment officer,” he said.

The appointments come ahead of the company’s super app launch.
