David Perkis has joined IFM Investors' private capital team as an associate director, a new role that will be responsible for "identifying, evaluating and managing private equity portfolio company investments".
Mr Perkis has made the move from Whitehelm Capital, where he was a senior associate responsible for investment management across both listed and unlisted property and infrastructure.
Before that, he held investment banking positions at Gresham Partners and Citigroup.
IFM Investors' head of private capital, Steve Lipchin, said the appointment is part of a new growth strategy at the firm.
"With his significant investment industry experience, David will be a great asset to the private capital team as we extend and evolve our direct investment platform," Mr Lipchin said.
