Ms Wheeldon-Steele has a wealth of executive experience in law, insurance and real estate, having worked with firms such as DLA Piper, King & Wood Mallesons and AMP Capital, where she served as head of brand and retail.
Centuria chairman Garry Charny said Ms Wheeldon-Steele’s skill set made her an asset to the business, describing her appointment as “a step towards the future”.
“We are delighted to have someone of Susan’s calibre and unique skill set, particularly in the digital space, to join the board at a time of major growth for the company,” he said.
During her time with AMP Capital, Ms Wheeldon-Steele oversaw the delivery of more than $5 billion in alternative revenue from the firm's 38 retail assets in Australia and New Zealand.
In her current position at Google, she is responsible for developing and implementing growth strategies for global businesses.
