Ms Shah has been a part of the Pimco team for nine years, most recently as executive vice president in the institutional accounts management team, during which time she has “demonstrated a long-term commitment to Pimco inclusion, diversity and culture initiatives”, the company said.
“This is an incredibly important role for Pimco; improvements and innovation in inclusion, diversity and culture lead to better business decisions, greater professional development for all employees and a better workplace environment,” said Pimco president Jay Jacobs.
In this role, Ms Shah will work with relevant committees to develop and manage all of Pimco’s global inclusion, diversity and culture initiatives, and Mr Jacobs said Ms Shah was a good fit for the role.
“Sapna is a proven leader and her involvement in IDC and campus recruiting initiatives over many years has given her a thorough understanding of the complexities of IDC initiatives,” he said.
