For the past two years, Mr Herbert has served as the chief executive of MyState-affiliate The Rock, a role he will continue in while assuming his new position managing national broker relationships.
“Paul knows MyState Bank well, has extensive experience in the mortgage broker industry, previously as state sales manager for Queensland and NSW with GE, and most importantly he understands brokers’ needs,” said MyState general manager sales and distribution Huw Bough.
“This will help Paul to hit the ground running, quickly establish key relationships and maintain our mortgage business growth momentum.”
MyState Bank has almost doubled its number of broker relationship managers in recent times, Mr Bough said, adding that brokers had added 30 per cent to the banks’ home loan books in the two years to 30 June 2016.
Mr Herbert said partnering with brokers was a “very important” part of the business and key to MyState Banks’ ongoing growth.
“Our goal is to make a difference to our partners, customers and communities everyday. With brokers we will do this by being accessible, being exceptional communicators and having a shared passion to serve and make things happen,” he said.
