State Street Global Advisors has announced Olivia Engel will relocate to Boston to take up the role of deputy chief investment officer of the firm’s global active quantitative equities team.

Ms Engel will work alongside State Street Global Advisors’ (SSGA) chief investment officer of global active quantitative equities (AQE) Ted Gekas, who will leave the company at the end of 2017.

SSGA said Ms Engel will “assume full responsibility for management of the global AQE team” upon Mr Gekas’ departure.

In her new role, Ms Engel will expand on her existing portfolio management responsibilities to include research into the “development and prioritisation of the AQE research process” while collaborating with other teams.
