Mr Proutt, who previously served as chief financial officer of Brookfield Australia, has worked in the financial services industry for more than 25 years and has experience across infrastructure, private equity, mergers and acquisitions and various other finance functions.
“Russell will be a valuable addition to our strong executive management team and we are delighted to have someone of his experience, market knowledge and expertise join the group,” said Charter Hall chief executive and managing director David Harrison.
“Russell is a results oriented finance executive who has accumulated extensive global property, infrastructure and private equity experience. His considerable leadership experience in financial management, transactions and equity markets will be a great benefit to the group.”
Mr Proutt will commence in his new role in August, the company said, which marks the end of a recruitment process which started in late 2016.
