Mr Stein joins the company from Altair Asset Management where he focused on small and mid-cap companies in the finance and industrial sectors.
OC Funds Management head of investments Robert Frost said the company was “pleased” with the appointment.
“He brings strong Australian smaller companies research and investment expertise that will complement our team’s capabilities,” he said.
“With the recent launch of our micro-cap fund, our investment universe has grown. Daniel will enable us to cover more stocks and identify value-creation opportunities for the long-term benefit of investors.”
Mr Stein will support Mr Frost as well as investment analysts Robert Calnon and Stephen Evans in OC Funds Management’s Melbourne office, and will look after the firm’s financial modelling and Australian small and micro-cap stock research.
