With nearly 20 years’ experience in the asset management industry, Mr Mathie will oversee the wholesale sales team in his new role and report to Fidelity Australia managing director Alva Devoy, according to a statement.
Ms Devoy said she was “very excited” to welcome Mr Mathie to the team.
“Andrew has acquired a wealth of knowledge through his various sales and leadership roles and we are confident that he has the right skills and experience to provide strategic direction and leadership to Fidelity’s wholesale business in Australia,” she said.
Prior to his role at Vanguard, Mr Mathie spent a combined eight years and eight months at Macquarie Group Limited as associate director and then division director of banking and financial services.
“I believe that Fidelity International’s investment solutions are truly world-class and I look forward to working closely with Alva and the wholesale team to continue growing its business in this market and providing exceptional service to our clients,” Mr Mathie said.
Headquartered in the UK, Fidelity International manages AU$394.6 billion in assets under management as of June 30, 2017.
