Ms Maxwell has formerly held senior roles with APRA, the ASX and AICD, and has “considerable experience” as a company secretary, said Governance Institute chief executive Steven Burrell.
“Catherine has a strong record in delivering a range of policy, business and change management projects and is a valuable addition to the Governance Institute team,” Mr Burrell said.
“She is particularly well placed to prosecute our policy and advocacy agenda.”

Mr Burrell also said Ms Maxwell has a “long-standing” relationship with the Governance Institute that will be beneficial to the role, noting she has worked the group as a fellow, a course director and a presenter for the group’s short courses and in-house training.
